About Us
The White Horse is a traditional pub in the village of Upper Poppleton, minutes from the beautiful city of York. Steeped in history, the pub has always played an integral part of village life, dating back from as early as 1793. From being the premises of a shoemaker, brewing stills of mint to help with ailments, and even being a biker’s paradise in the 1970’s, The White Horse has welcomed everyone over the years.
Now in their fourth year, the pub is run by Chris and Maria from York and offer a warm, Yorkshire welcome every day.
Serving delicious food, great beer and wine and a large selection of non-alcoholic hot and cold drinks, The White Horse Pub & Dining is making new history.

Beer & Wine
From local beers on hand-pull to continental lagers on tap, we have something for everyone. We stock gluten free beer and have a great selection of 0% alcohol products, including Heineken 0% on draught.
Our wine list has over 20 wines from around the world, including bubbles. If you are not sure what you fancy, be sure to ask the team for some advice.
We also have a large range of gins and spirits, including a selection of 0% products too!
